Taylor Spivey

Born and raised in Southern California, Taylor grew up in an active Southern California beach community. With inspiration from her athletic parents, she dabbled in many sports throughout her childhood, from soccer, to water polo, to surf lifesaving. Along the way, she earned several national titles and an MVP while competing in Surf Lifesaving and was nominated as the most outstanding rookie LA County Lifeguard. In college, she competed on the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo NCAA Division I swim team and continued to compete in summer surf lifesaving events all while focused on her university academics. In her final year of college, she took up triathlons, while earning a BA with honors in Architecture. She fell in love with the sport and in 2014 and earned the title of Collegiate National Champion. After college, she focused full time on triathlon competition as part of USAT's Collegiate Recruitment Program. In 2017, under her new coach Coach Paulo Sousa, she has continued to see improvement in her results and has climbed in the world rankings, earning both a 2nd place podium at World Cup Madrid, and at WTS Leeds. She strives to be an all around triathlete and make a name for herself on the World stage.
