Late one afternoon many years ago, before I was even a Lezyne ambassador, I was riding in Moab on Porcupine Rim trail, having started high up in the La Sals. We were several hours into the ride with one to two more hours if things went well. Now, this was before tubeless tires had taken over the world, and we were fixing our 5th or 6th flat tire on the ride—it was one of those days!
The best pump our crew had was a tiny hand-held trail pump, the kind that pops off your valve stem while using it, and the pump is so short it takes a few hundred strokes just to inflate the tire to 'get me home' pressure. To say we were over it is an understatement—the constant flat tires made it miserable.
Luckily our trail saint rolled through, a random rider with a Lezyne Micro Floor Drive HV. He let us use it to fix the current flat, and I was blown away. It works like a floor pump, with the bottom foot peg that folds out to stand on and the T-Handle to push with. The tube threads onto your valve stem as well so you aren’t always worried about it popping off when pumping.
So impressed with the Micro Floor Drive's performance, at the end of the ride I went directly to the bike shop to buy one—I was never riding without the Lezyne Micro Floor Drive again. Since then I’ve brought mine on every ride and trip I've done, whether in my backyard, or around the world, including Iraq, Iceland, the Himalayas, South America, Morocco, and more!
